ALAMEDA - JaMarcus Russell will start at quarterback Sunday in Miami for the Raiders.
"Right now I'd say he's good to go," said interim head coach Tom Cable.
Russell sat out the Raiders' 17-6 loss to Carolina with tendonitis and a bone bruise on his right knee.
The injury was aggravated when Russell fell during practice last week.
*The competition at left tackle yielded no clear-cut winner.
So Kwame Harris will start at left tackle and share time with Mario Henderson.
"They both had a great week so I'm going to play them both, try to play them even this week," Cable said. "But both of them did a nice job this week so I think competition there now is really on, it's a really good thing. It's good for us."
Henderson only played in the second quarter.
Cable was asked if Henderson could still play right tackle. Cable said he has Henderson focused on playing the left side for now.
*New acquisition Justin Miller will return kickoffs. Johnnie Lee Higgins will handle punts.
*If WR Chaz Schilens' ankle remains a problem, Ronald Curry would start for him. Ashley Lelie will start for Javon Walker, who is out and was scheduled to have ankle surgery today.
Cable said the focus was on Sunday's game and any decision to add a receiver or promote Jonathan Holland from the practice squad would come later.
The Raiders usually dress five receivers and would have that Sunday with Curry, Schilens, Higgins, Lelie sand Todd Watkins.
*Jake Grove's calf injury shouldn't keep him out too long.
"They need to get all the swelling and everything out," Cable said after Grove missed practice this week.. "For sure, probably the week after. Maybe next week."
*Cable expects all the players limited in practice on Friday - Russell, RB Darren McFadden (toe), S Gibril Wilson (back) and QB Andrew Walter (ankle) to be available Sunday.
Marques Tuiasosopo took a lot of snaps as the No. 2 quarterback this week, but it hasn't been decided he will be Russell's backup.
DE Derrick Burgess (triceps), LB Ricky Brown (groin) did not practice.
