CONGRESSWOMAN MATSUI, SACRAMENTO HOUSING AND REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
SPONSOR FORECLOSURE WORKSHOP
Special presentation by District Attorney’s Foreclosure Task Force
Sacramento – On Wednesday, August 27, Congresswoman Doris Matsui, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency, and other community leaders will be sponsoring a special mortgage default and foreclosure workshop at the Robertson Community Center to help struggling homeowners keep their homes.
Located at 3525 Norwood Avenue and starting at 6:30 p.m., the workshop will give homeowners the opportunity to meet one-on-one with credit counselors, banks, and lending institutions to discuss what they can do to prevent going into default, discuss their financial options, and set-up a financial plan that works to prevent foreclosure.
“I am fully committed to keeping Sacramento’s families in their homes,” Congresswoman Matsui said. “We cannot sit idly by while our neighbors fall victim to the mortgage crisis, and I applaud the work that the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency and our community leaders are doing to tackle this issue.”
The District Attorney’s office will also have a special representative from its Foreclosure Task Force available to speak with homeowners about predatory lending, legal obligations of homeownership, and neighborhood revitalization.
“As a member of the Foreclosure Task Force, I am dedicated to working with the DA’s office and SHRA to help with this crisis,” said Congresswoman Matsui. “We all need to provide responsible relief to families at risk of losing their homes. It is in the best interest of our communities to provide options for homeowners so that they have enough time to pursue responsible financial solutions.”
