Making sure you got the numbers I was talking about earlier. Basically, they address the question of, "Okay, you guys don’t want to furlough your employees. What are you doing to help solve the problem?"
If we implemented the furlough, we would save a total of $2 million through fiscal 2009-10 ($569,000 in 2008-09).
In this fiscal year alone, we have generated more than seven times that amount in additional revenue for the General Fund through various financial management initiatives we've undertaken. Those initiatives have generated an extra $14.6 million for the General Fund. They will remain in effect and generate more money in 2009-10 and subsequent years.
In addition to the revenue-generating measures, we have reduced our General Fund spending by 10 percent in this fiscal year.
