Subject: Franchise Tax Board Reduces Public Access Hours at Field Offices

Sacramento – The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) today announced that effective Monday, November 2, it will change the public counter hours for all its field offices to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays, except for state holidays. Current hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.Taxpayers can always get tax help and access many resources on FTB’s website, ftb.ca.gov, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of the online services available include:· Find answers to frequently asked questions.· Get tax forms and publications.· Check a tax refund status.
Taxpayers needing assistance with their tax matters can also call FTB at 800.852.5711, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except for state holidays. There are currently no plans to change the call center hours of operation.The change in hours is due to budget constraints. FTB has offices located in Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and Santa Ana.
