Franchise Tax Board Reduces Public Access Hours at Field Offices

For Immediate Release

Sacramento – The Franchise Tax Board (FTB) today announced that effective Monday, November 2, it will change the public counter hours for all its field offices to 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays, except for state holidays. Current hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Taxpayers can always get tax help and access many resources on FTB’s website, ftb.ca.gov, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some of the online services available include:

·         Find answers to frequently asked questions.
·         Get tax forms and publications.
·         Use Web Pay to schedule an online payment.
·         Apply for an installment payment plan for those who may not be able to pay.
·         Check a tax refund status.
·         Check an account status for payments made or a balance due.

Taxpayers needing assistance with their tax matters can also call FTB at 800.852.5711, weekdays 8 a.m. to 5
p.m., except for state holidays. There are currently no plans to change the call center hours of operation.

The change in hours is due to budget constraints. FTB has offices located in Los Angeles, Oakland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and Santa Ana. For addresses and directions to the six field offices, go to ftb.ca.gov and type in “field offices” in the Search FTB Box located in the top right corner of the FTB website.
