CALPERS HONORED WITH SILVER
AWARD IN THE 2009 |

I am pleased to announce that CalPERS is a Silver Award recipient of the 2009 California Fit Business Award, thanks in large part to the efforts and enthusiasm of our Wellness Committee and our robust Wellness Program, Wellness Works. The award recognizes private and
non-profit companies and agencies across Some CalPERS examples cited in our application for the 2009 Fit Business Award include: ·
· Nutrition 101 class · Wellness campaigns such as the recent Win With Wellness · Active Wellness Committee This year more than 70 companies
across the State applied for this award. This included a mix of public and
private sector companies, small local companies, and “The California Fit Business winners exemplify a true commitment to a healthy and productive workforce,” says Jim Carman, Employee Wellness Consultant for Kaiser Permanente. “They’re models for employers of all sizes and it serves them well from a business bottom-line to support the overall wellness of their employees.” The CalPERS Wellness Committee, made up of representatives from each division, in partnership with the Wellness Program, applied for this prestigious award last June. The award ceremony will take place on November 5th. I’d like to thank each and every one of you for your continued commitment to improving or maintaining a healthy lifestyle and helping us to showcase our award-winning Wellness Program to our government and private industry peers.
