Task Force Director Issues Statement on Progress in Clearing
Office of
Historic Preservation Recovery Act Project Backlog
California Recovery Task
Force Director Cynthia Bryant issued the following statement regarding
Inspector General Laura Chick’s recent letter highlighting the
State’s Office of Historic Preservation Recovery Act application backlog.
One week before the Inspector General issued her letter, the Governor’s
office ordered the Office of Historic Preservation to have the discussed
backlog completely cleared within 30 days – which is by the end of
January.
“Currently, the
Office of Historic Preservation has processed over 335 Recovery-related
applications. Just six Recovery Act projects remain backlogged at this time
because applicants have been asked to provide additional information, and the
backlog is expected to be cleared by the end of next week.”
