My purse pal Kari Alexander is really in the big leagues now. First, she was a local broadcaster ("Good Day Sacramento"), then she became a fashion designer, then she married some famous Hollywood movie exec. And if all that weren't enough, now she's got her line of trademark "karibags" on QVC!
It really doesn't get any better than that.
I met Kari back in 2004 when she still lived in Sac and had launched her cute line of unique bags. For those of you who aren't familiar with karibags, they're purses incorporated onto a belt or sash and worn around the waist.
Kari took the bags to some of the awards shows in L.A. and got rave reviews. Now celebs such as Kelly Clarkson, Molly Sims and Eva Mendes are wrapped up in Kari, so to speak.
I admit I'm a huge QVC fan. I love the stuff, and Kari is in good company. I found out she's also got a store in Naples, Fla., and is hoping to open something in New York. She also did a trunk show this fall with Neiman Marcus in Los Angeles.
Kari appeared last Friday on the show. At QVC.com today is her cute printed sash-style belt, which comes in three colors and sells for $29.33.
You go, girl!
