A political fashion plate

We couldn't agree more with Mr. Blackwell's list of worst-dressed celebs, which appeared on Page 3 in Wednesday's Scene.

But even more so, we here in the state of California loved that he included our own Nancy Pelosi, speaker of the House, on his list of women who get it right when it comes to their wardrobes.

On Wednesday, Pelosi marched out of the White House dressed in a bright red suit with a beautiful matching wrap. She definitely stood out, especially as the male politicians in tow were in their usual somber attire (read: black and gray).

Pelosi, from San Francisco, surely has no shortage of skirts and jackets, but this particular outfit was stunning and brightened what looked like a dreary day in Washington.

We'll keep our eyes peeled for Pelosi at the the State of the Union address, which is scheduled for Jan. 23. It will be the first time a woman has sat in one of those big chairs behind the president as he delivers the good word.
