Things to Do in Sacramento and Beyond

The Bee's guide to events, activities, arts and entertainment

If you're a fan of ABC's Emmy-winning "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," then you're familiar with the bubbly and upbeat Paige Hemmis.
You probably also know that Hemmis, a carpenter and designer on the program, has struggled with depression. What you may not know is that Hemmis is coming to Sacramento July 28 on a mission to inspire others to talk with their health-care professional if they feel they have depression symptoms.
She's stopping here as part of the Blueprint for Hope tour, a campaign that will show how important it is to build a plan for managing depression.
Listen to Hemmis and get help at a free event at 7:30 p.m. on July 28 at the Radisson Hotel in Sacramento. Refreshments will be served.
