My dad and I used to watch baseball on television, and he'd tell me how awful the announcers were because they were talking about everything but the game unfolding in front of them. I learned a lot about paying attention to details. So I'm really glad The Bee wants me to write this inside-baseball column. It's a dream come true.
Childhood ambition: To be an archaeologist.
Thing I now have to do before I die: That's too personal for a public forum.
What's on my screensaver: An artistic interpolation of a scene from the New York production of Martin McDonagh's comedy-horror-fantasia "The Pillowman," with Jeff Goldblum threatening Billy Crudup.
Last song uploaded on my iPod: "Broken Chair" by Luna.
Soundtrack of my life: "Misterioso" by Thelonious Monk.
If I were an action hero, my name would be: Action hero?
Signature drink: Negroni.
Signature style: Flat fronts, solid primary colors.
Food I crave at midnight: Carnitas tacos. ( I actually crave them all the time.)
Biggest thing to hit Sacramento in the past year: So-called loft living.
