Wastewater WWTP Operator II with the Susanville Sanitary District Salary: $3,246 -- $3,946/ mo. The Susanville Sanitary District provides sewer service to the City of Susanville and has a population of around 16,000 people. The Susanville Sanitary District is looking for a highly motivated individual who can advance to a Grade III Lead WWTP Operator when qualified, salary ($3,720-$4,522) mo. Plus a 3% COLA on July 1, 2009. JOB SUMMARY: Under direction from the General Manager, operates and maintains the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Sewage Collection System. Performs a variety of skilled work, including the operation of a variety of tools to repair the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Performs the necessary lab analysis and operational changes to optimize wastewater treatment performance. Maintains and repairs the sewage collection systems, sewage pump stations, wastewater treatment plant, sewer-cleaning equipment, operates the Vactor truck and performs related work as required. On-call duty is req'd. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Three years operation and maintenance experience with wastewater treatment plant, sewage pump stations, sewage collection system and operation of sewer cleaning equipment. Education: Equivalent to the completion of a twelfth grade education. Some college coursework preferred. Required Licenses and Certifications: A valid California driver's license and acceptable driving record according to District policy. A valid grade II wastewater treatment plant operator certificate issued by the State of California Resources Control Board. All individuals offered District employment must pass a pre-employment physical examination.
