Sacramento residents can expect cooler temperatures to start off the week with a chance of smoky air because of the Sand Fire in El Dorado and Amador counties, according to the National Weather Service.
High pressure over the western portion of the country is expected to send temperatures upward starting Friday with a high of 100 degrees forecast for Sacramento.
