A pedestrian trying to cross Elk Grove Boulevard died after he was struck by two vehicles late Tuesday afternoon.
Elk Grove police spokesman Officer Christopher Trim said officers responded about 5:40 p.m. to the collision scene near Big Timber Drive. He said the pedestrian, a male adult, was crossing from the south side of Elk Grove Boulevard to the north side, in the middle of the block where there is no crosswalk, when he was struck by a westbound sedan. The driver immediately pulled over, but before anyone could come to the aid of the man lying in the roadway, he was struck by a second sedan. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
Trim said both drivers remained at the scene and were cooperating with police. The drivers were shaken but did not appear to have sustained any physical injury, he said.
