A section of Highway 50 in El Dorado Hills will be closed to traffic during the early morning on three Sundays to allow blasting for El Dorado County’s Valley interchange project.

The county’s Transportation Division announced that the freeway will be closed in both directions between El Dorado Hills Boulevard and Bass Lake Road from 6 to 8 a.m. Sunday, as well as July 13 and 20.

In addition, the Latrobe Road on-ramp to eastbound Highway 50 and the Bass Lake Road on-ramp to the westbound highway will be closed from 4 to 8 a.m. each of the three Sundays, and White Rock Road, between Valley View Parkway and Entrada Circle, will be closed from 5 to 8 a.m.

Blasting operations will occur on the south side of Highway 50.

During the closures, Highway 50 traffic will be detoured via El Dorado Hills Boulevard, Serrano Parkway and Bass Lake Road. Motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes around the area that also bypass the closures.

Portable changeable message signs will be placed around the work zone to update motorists on any changes to the timing of the closures.
