Cedric, Hughley, Griffin and Lopez began touring together along with the late Charlie Murphy in spring 2016. Each comic has at least 25 years’ experience doing stand-up and extensive on-screen exposure.
Cedric the Entertainer is perhaps best known for his lead role in the “Barbershop” trilogy before joining star-studded casts in “Be Cool,” “Larry Crowne” and “Madagascar.”
Hughley wrote and starred in “The Hughleys,” a fish-out-of-water TV show about a black family’s move into a white San Fernando Valley neighborhood. His third book, titled “How to Not Get Shot (And Other Advice From White People),” is scheduled to be released in June.
Griffin went from choreographing the Kansas City Chiefs’ halftime performances as a teenager to hosting tri-weekly shows at Rio Las Vegas. His new comedy special, “Undeniable,” drops Friday at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
Lopez starred in a self-titled TV show from 2002-2007 before taking on roles in “Valentine’s Day,” “Rio” and “Balls of Fury,” among other movies. He was also a recurring guest on “Reno: 911” in 2008 and 2009 and was named one of the Top 25 Hispanics in America by Time Magazine in 2005.
Cities along “The Comedy Get Down” tour serve as a vessel for the comedians’ TV show by the same name, which airs a behind-the-scenes look at their travels across the country on BET. Cedric, Hughley, Griffin, Lopez and Murphy previously came to Sleep Train Arena in February 2016.
