Stories on Stage, a literary series in which local actors perform authors’ short works, will conclude its seventh season with a flourish.
Special guest will be Bonnie Jo Campbell, author of three short story collections and two novels, which cumulatively have won a National Book Critics Circle Award and the Pushcart and Eudora Welty prizes. One collection, “American Salvage,” was a finalist for the National Book Award. Her new collection is “Mothers, Tell Your Daughters” (Norton, $15, 272 pages).
Appearing with her will be Kristin Fitzpatrick, whose debut story collection is “My Pulse is An Earthquake.” Reading from the books will be Kelley Ogden and Tara Henry.
The presentation will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28 at the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts, 1425 24th St., Sacramento. Doors open at 7 p.m.; $10 donation is suggested.
