Between her four-title “Twilight” series of romance-fantasy novels and five-movie “Twilight Saga,” Stephenie Meyer is a hero and role model to young-adult readers. Her huge fan base flocked to the drama and angst of a teenage girl falling in love with a vampire. Oh, and werewolves are involved.
Now the 42-year-old multimillionaire has written her first thriller, “The Chemist,” on sale Nov. 8 (Little, Brown, $28, 528 pages). Wisely, her publisher has arranged an “in conversation with” event between Meyer and author Rainbow Rowell (“Fangirl,” “Eleanor & Park”). They will broadcast their live chat from at the Mesa Arts Center in Mesa, Ariz., at 5:30 p.m. PST, Nov. 18 on Little, Brown’s Facebook page.
“The Chemist” is described this way: “An ex-agent on the run from her former employers must take one more case to clear her name and save her life.”
