The folks at the Limelight Cafe-Bar know a good book when they see it, so they’ve invited Sacramento historian Annette Kassis over for a discussion and signing of her “Prohibition in Sacramento: Moralizers & Bootleggers in the Wettest City in the Nation” (History Press, $20, 160 pages).
“Dec. 5 is the 82nd anniversary of Prohibition’s repeal, and we thought it would be fun to have some post-Prohibition-style cocktails to go with Annette’s chat,” said Limelight spokesman Joe McNamara.
Catch Kassis from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday along with a Sidecar, Old Fashioned, Bee’s Knees, French 75, White Lady, Sazerack or Mary Pickford. It’ll happen at 1014 Alhambra Blvd., Sacramento; for more information, call 916-446-2236 or go to www.limelightsac.com.
