National park camera perfectly captures mountain lion above L.A. city lights


A crystal clear picture of a mountain lion roaming the Santa Monica Mountains with the twinkling lights of Los Angeles below was posted to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area’s Facebook page.

The female mountain lion was photographed with a remote camera in the Verdugo Mountains. "L.A. is one of only two megacities in the world (the other is Mumbai) with large carnivores living within the city limits," the post says.
