The first video ever uploaded to YouTube came at 8:27 p.m. on April 23, 2005, a 20-second clip of high school student Jawed Karim called “Me at the zoo.” In the video, which has been viewed over 21 million times, Karim talks about the length of an elephant’s trunk.

Ten years later, the video service has transformed the Internet.
