Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s daughter cancels weekend nuptials to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer.

Palin, a former Republican vice presidential candidate, wrote Monday on Facebook that the two said the wedding planned for May 23 will no longer be held, but she didn't give a reason.

Meyer was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2011. The Kentucky native is credited with saving the lives of 36 Marines, U.S. soldiers and Afghan soldiers, providing cover for them to find their way out of a firefight with the Taliban, according to the Associated Press.
