A massive asteroid is expected to pass by Earth on Halloween in the closest flyby since 2006, according to NASA.

The asteroid, which is 2,000 feet in diameter (over five football fields), will come 1.3 lunar distances (310,000 miles) from Earth at an unusually high velocity of 78,000 mph. The distance is considered dangerously close for an asteroid of that size.
