Spencer Stone, Anthony Sadler and Alex Skarlatos – dubbed Sacramento’s “hometown heroes” for their roles in thwarting a Paris train terror attack – have been awarded the Spike Guys Choice Award.

They will be honored on the show airing Thursday on Spike TV. The awards show boasts a lighthearted but heartfelt toast to celebrities.

French train hero Skarlatos comes in third on ‘Dancing’ show

The three childhood friends were hailed as heroes for thwarting a terrorist attack aboard a French passenger train in August 2015. They received France’s highest award, the Legion of Honor, for bravery in the face of the attack. They had an audience with President Barack Obama at the White House in September and were feted at home in Sacramento with a downtown parade.
