Spooky train rides ahead in Sacramento

The diesel-powered “Spookomotive” with its “skeleton crew” rolls along the tracks again this year to celebrate the Halloween season. Operated by California State Parks and the California State Railroad Museum & Foundation, the 45-minute, 6-mile round trips along the Sacramento River are available 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday, Oct. 17-18, and continue weekends through Nov. 1.
