If the thought of cooking for your intimate party or gathering overwhelms you, area caterers may be able to assist.

Catering businesses are often designed to serve the masses, making small-scale holiday catering options difficult to find. Here is a sampling of catering options for parties of 10 to 30 people by four Sacramento eateries:

Selland’s Market-Cafe: The East Sacramento favorite, known for its mac and cheese, wood-fired pizzas, homemade pies and other American-style comfort dishes, offers holiday season catering to Sacramento, Folsom and El Dorado Hills. Party packages serving up to 24 range from $535 to $594. Packages include appetizers, mini sandwiches, fruit and cheese platters and seafood plates, with flexibility to customize orders with additional a la carte and dessert options.

The restaurant also offers a special Thanksgiving and Christmas Day to-go menu with mix-and-match, customizable spreads or preselected packages that serve four. Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, which come prepared and are sent out cold for reheating, are only available for in-store pickup.

For more information, go to www.sellands.com.

Texas West Bar-B-Que: This traditional Texas-style barbecue joint, off Fulton Avenue, offers customizable holiday catering for groups of 15 or more to the Sacramento region, and also as far as Placer, El Dorado, Solano and Napa counties. Both drop-off and on-site catering are available, priced from $13.99 to $18.98 per person and half price for children under 10. Texas West’s catering menu features traditional holiday meats, such as smoked turkey and ham, as well as tri-tip and country-style side orders. Customers can order online or over the phone.

Whole Foods: The large-scale natural and organic foods grocer, operating in Davis, Roseville, Folsom and Arden Arcade, allows customers to select a highly customizable spread for holiday gatherings of any size. Customers may opt to pick up their food or have it delivered, but Whole Foods does not offer full-service on-site catering. Prices vary and are based on individual portions, with a required 10-portion minimum purchase. The store’s 30-page menu offers appetizers, including chicken wings, skewers and empanadas, salads, sushi, sandwiches, vegetarian and non-vegetarian entrees, sides and desserts.

Customers must order 48 hours in advance online, over the phone or in stores. For more information, go to www.wholefoodsmarket.com/service/catering-110.

▪ Ten22: The Old Sacramento fine dining restaurant provides delivery, pick up and full-service on-site lunch and dinner catering for holiday season get-togethers. Ten22 serves the greater Sacramento area, including Elk Grove, Granite Bay, Folsom, West Sacramento and El Dorado Hills. Lunch catering, with sandwich, burger, hot dog and salad options, ranges from $14.95 to $20.95 per person. Dinner options, including barbecue, chicken and seafood entrees, are priced at $29.95 to $42.95 per person. Fruit, cheese, sandwich, slider and bruschetta party platters, which each serve up to 15 guests, may be added to orders.
