Accomplishment: Inducted into California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame

Details: After a brief career as a social worker, Gibson joined her father’s business. The Von-Jac company, which has built more than 20,000 homes in Northern California, now focuses on custom homes and remodels.

Kudos to: Leenah Bassouni, junior at Western Sierra Collegiate Academy in Rocklin

Accomplishment: Active in public service

Details: Bassouni, junior class president and yearbook editor, has helped out at the Ronald McDonald House and at Loaves and Fishes. Now, she is supporting the Teens for Jeans campaign for homeless youths through retailer Aeropostle and the nonprofit dosomething.org. Her school at 660 Menlo Drive is accepting jeans donations.

Kudos to: Gayle Garbolino-Mojica, Placer County Superintendent of Schools

Accomplishment: Presented a 2014 ATHENA Leadership award by Roseville Chamber of Commerce

Details: The award, presented annually by chambers of commerce, women’s organizations and universities around the world, goes to women or men for professional excellence, community service and for helping women attain job and leadership skills.
