Fundraiser to benefit Sacramento County’s shelter animals

You don’t need to don a tuxedo to bid on a South African photo safari and help your furry friends at home in the Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter.

Attire is casual for the sixth annual Whiskers and Wine benefit, to be hosted by Teaching Everyone Animals Matter, or TEAM, at the Bradshaw Center between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

“Every year, this is the shelter’s largest fundraiser,” said Dave Dickinson, director of the Sacramento County Bradshaw Animal Shelter.

Tickets for the event’s live and silent auctions, sit-down dinner and beer and wine bar will be $75 at the door and $60 in advance. Teo Torres of KCRA-TV (Channel 3) will emcee the event, which will include wine tastings and beer pours.

Funds raised every year at the event allow for various benefits for the shelter, including providing medicine and facilitating volunteer activities to comfort the animals.
