SPCA pets of the week: Tenaya and Tacoma

Take a look at these two adorable mice. Tenaya and Tacoma are 10 months old females, look like they stepped out of a winter wonderland and are as cute as they come. Mice may not be the first thing you think of when you envision your next furry friend, but they can make very entertaining pets. Mice are extremely social and are happiest when living in pairs. Did you know they can communicate with each other using ultrasonic sounds? How cool is that? Mice are also very easy to care for. Many TV shows portray mice as avid cheese lovers, but they are happiest and healthiest when eating a diet of fruit, seeds and grains. Give them fresh food and water each day, a place to burrow along with a wheel and a few toys and you’ll see your new friends flourish.

Adoption fee: $10 single, $15 for the pair
