Zombies and freaks will return to the USS Hornet at the Naval Air Station in Alameda just in time for Halloween.
The decommissioned aircraft carrier will be open for haunted tours starting Saturday, Oct. 8, through Monday, Oct. 31, at 707 W. Hornet Ave.
General admission costs $30 before Oct. 22 and $35 through Oct. 31.

Donner Party hikes, tour
What: The 24th Annual Donner Party Hike offers guided walks exploring the grim history.
When: The hikes leave at different times on Saturday, Oct. 8. The walking tour departs between 8:30 and 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9.
Where: Hikes start from different spots around the Truckee area. Sunday’s walking tour leaves from the Donner Camp Picnic Area.
