Postcards from Readers: Predjama Castle, Slovenia

The photographer: Julie Fisher of Sacramento

Behind the lens: Predjama Castle, Slovenia – there has been a castle on this site for almost 1,000 years. During the latter part of the 15th century, the owner withstood an enemy siege for over a year, finally to be killed while using the outdoor toilet. (You can’t make this stuff up!)
