Classic films under the stars, can summer get any better than that?

With the stars overhead, what could be a better place to take in a classic film – “Wall-E,” “Beetlejuice,” “ Stand By Me,’ “The NeverEnding Story,” “Vertigo,” “The Big Lebowski?” – than in the pines and under the stars?

If you agree, head to Pioneer Park or the Nevada County Fairgrounds, both in Nevada City, (check schedule for venue) use Gate 1 to enter and then relax and enjoy. This will be the fifth year that Nevada City Film Festival presents Movies Under the Pines, which kicks off Friday, June 2, and concludes Saturday, Aug. 26. Individual tickets and passes: $5-$100. 530-362-8601, www.nevadacityfilmfestival.com
