The Crocker Museum’s Summer Film Series returns Thursday, Aug. 3, and explores the power of black and white films with local film historian Jacob Greenberg.

Among the offerings is “La Haine” (Hate), the story of one summer day in the lives of three friends in a Parisian low-income housing project.
