The music station returns after a 10-year hiatus.

Smooth Jazz returned to Sacramento airwaves this week as iHeartMedia launched station 107.1 FM.

Lynda Clayton, who hosted middays when Smooth Jazz was on 94.7 from 1997 to 2010, will be the voice of the new station, according to radioinsight.com.

Clayton talked about the music the HD station will play in an interview with to Fox40.

“Smooth jazz is contemporary jazz, so it has a vibe,” Clayton said. “Its a different kind of vibe. It’s a lifestyle, really. Its such a great vibe. If it’s got the smooth vibe of relaxing your day, giving you a vibe of breathing deeper, we’re here for you.”

Radio personality Kitty O’Neal, anchor at fellow iHeart station KFBK, welcomed Clayton back in this interview.
