The bats might be nervous, but the news will keep the heavy metal masses stoked.

The hard rock icon Ozzy Osbourne will headline Sacramento’s Monster Energy Aftershock festival in October.

Osbourne, who will be joined in his band by guitarist Zakk Wylde, caps a roster of nearly three dozen heavy metal and hard rock acts that will descend on Discovery Park come Oct. 21-22. Other bands on board for Aftershock include Nine Inch Nails, A Perfect Circle, Mastodon, Marilyn Manson, Five Finger Death Punch and Gojira.

With previous editions of the festival drawing a combined attendance of 50,000, Aftershock ranks as Sacramento’s largest annual concert outing. The festival also rocks the area in a financial way. Aftershock generates upward of $10 million for the Sacramento area economy.

Single day and weekend tickets will be released via aftershockconcert.com starting at 12 p.m. on Friday.

Weekend passes are $149.50 general admission or $279.50 for VIP; single day general admission is $84.50 and $154.50 for single day VIP.
