Pitchfork reviewer Sheldon Pierce called “Flower Boy,” “transformational, lovestruck and penetrating” while acknowledging it as a step in growing up from Tyler’s past lyrics full of homophobic slurs and misogynistic lines.
Originally from Los Angeles, Tyler, The Creator announced he had attended Elk Grove High School for two weeks during a previous show at Ace of Spades. His annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival music festival was headlined by Lana Del Rey, Kid Cudi and 2 Chainz this year.
