Elton John to call it quits after this tour: “I just never thought that fatherhood could bring me so much joy”
Elton John’s final tour, “Farewell Yellow Brick Road,” is as ambitious as the musician’s nearly 50-year career – 300 shows across five continents beginning Sept. 28.
A stop at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento is scheduled Jan. 16, 2019, according to a G1C news release issued Wednesday.
“I plan to bring the passion and creativity that has entertained my fans for decades to my final tour,” John said in a statement. “After the tour finishes, I’m very much looking forward to closing off that chapter of my life by saying farewell to life on the road. I need to dedicate more time to raising my children.”
Tickets for initial shows go on sale to the general public beginning 10 a.m. Feb. 2. For information on tickets and the tour, go to www.eltonjohn.com.
