Sacramento choruses team up for ‘Songs of Eternity’

The Sacramento Choral Society & Orchestra presents its season finale at 8 p.m. Saturday. Joining in the evening will be the California State University, Sacramento, chorus. Themed “Songs of Eternity,” the concert features works by three modern American classical composers, including the West Coast premiere of Dan Forrest’s “Requiem for the Living” and James Hopkins’ “Songs of Eternity.” Donald Kendrick, SCSO artistic director, describes the three works on the evening program as dramatic and lyrical.
