A sea of devil’s horns saultes are coming in October to Gibson Ranch. The fourth annual Monster Energy Aftershock Festival will feature Sacramento’s own Deftones as headliners, along with such hard rock and heavy metal favorites as Jane’s Addiction, Slipknot, Faith No More, Marilyn Manson and Seether.
The two-day festival, slated for Oct. 24 - Oct. 25, arrives as Deftones are expected to release its latest album. Deftones’ previous record, “Koi No Yokan,” was another success for the Grammy winning rock band that was birthed in Sacramento. “Koi No Yokan” hit the No. 2 position on Billboard’s hard rock albums chart and named “album of the year” in Revolver Magazine’s “Golden Gods Awards.”
This year’s Aftershock line-up also features an extra amount of star power, given its co-headlining slots filled by Jane’s Addiction, Shinedown and others. The 2014 version of Aftershock, featuring Rob Zombie, Weezer, Offspring and more, was attended by more than 17,000 concertgoers daily at Discovery Park.
The latest version of Aftershock finds the festival moving to Gibson Ranch, which will host the upcoming City of Trees festival with Cake, Of Monsters and Men and more. Gibson Ranch will provide more spacious digs for the festival, and can acommodate 25,000 concertgoers daily. According to the Sacramento Convention & Visitors Bureau, Aftershock 2015 is projected to generate $11.6 million in economic impact, with the promoter spending nearly $1 million for services with local businesses.
