The Plain White T’s, famous for their 2006 radio hit, “Hey There Delilah,” played Thursday for an audience of students at Franklin High School in Elk Grove.

The pop punk band performed on an outdoor stage set up on campus where a crowd of teens on their lunch break cheered and sang along.

The Plain White T’s performed alongside a couple other bands as part of an educational promotion event organized by High School Nation, a group that brings touring musicians to campuses to expose students to the arts.

The Plain White T’s appeared for High School Nation at Downey High School, just southeast of Los Angeles, on March 29, the Downey Patriot reported.

“Hey There Delilah” went platinum a year after its release and it was nominated for two Grammys in 2008 for song of the year and best pop performance.
