TBD Fest’s music is too loud, some West Sacramento neighbors claim

West Sacramento’s TBD Fest amped up this weekend with an eclectic array of music, haute cuisine and a showcase of art, architecture and design.

But some neighbors near the festival, moved this year to West Sacramento’s upstart Bridge District, say the event offered an unwelcome bonus: wall-vibrating noise.

West Sacramento police Lt. Tod Sockman said 16 complaints came in Friday night from neighbors who reported “loud noise and thumping” during varied musical acts. Sacramento city police also reported calls about noise but said they referred the callers to West Sacramento police.

Sockman said the city hired an independent contractor for noise tests before the event and for monitoring during the concert “to let us know if there are ways to improve it” to provide less disruption to neighbors.

Police otherwise reported no incidents or disturbances related to the festival, he said.
