Last laughs for troupe

After 40 years of rapid-fire sketch comedy and satire, the longtime San Francisco comedy troupe Duck’s Breath Mystery Theatre is calling it quits. Newsweek once called the group – a favorite of Palms audiences in the ’70s and ’80s – “an American Monty Python” and it gained wider following with commentaries on NPR’s “All Things Considered.” Duck’s Breath quit touring regularly in 1988, opting for occasional live shows. For one of its last shows the group returns Aug. 27 to the Palms, 13 Main St., Winters. $22; palmsplayhouse.com, 530-795-1825.
