16th New Millennium Concert series kicks off

The 16th New Millennium Concert Series kids off Wednesday, Feb. 17, with a performance by The Telegraph Quartet.

The series presents chamber music ensembles and soloists from across the country as well as performances by Sac State Music Department faculty and winners of the A.J. and Susana Watson Chamber Music Competition.

The Telegraph Quarter, winner of the Grand Prize of the 2014 Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, will perform the third of Mozart’s Haydn Quartets and Schubert’s “Death and the Maiden.”

Other concerts in the series are a sold-out performance by violinist Sarah Chang and pianist Julio Elizalde on Thursday, March 10; a program by baritone Randall Scarlata and pianist Gilbert Kalish on Wednesday, April 13, that includes Schubert’s “Schwanengesang” (“Swan Song”); and the Faculty, Friends and Alumni Gala, which includes the music of Poulenc and Brahms.
