Fans of “Stranger Things” apparently liked one of the character’s hoodies so much that they crashed a website selling the clothing item Tuesday.
It turns out their hunger for the clothing item hasn’t abated.
The character Dustin Henderson, played by Gaten Matarazzo, came to school in a purple hoodie with a Brontosaurus – or “Thunder Lizard” – skeleton logo from the Science Museum of Minnesota.

Fans went wild for the sweat shirt – and the museum responded by launching sales of the apparel Tuesday. The sweat shirts, along with crewnecks and T-shirts, will be on sale while supplies last at the Explore Store and online, the museum said.
TheWrap says it spoke to a museum spokesperson, who confirmed the website crashed “due to overwhelming volume when the Thunder Lizard hoodie that appeared on ‘Stranger Things’ went on sale yesterday.”
As of Thursday, the museum announced it had sold $600,000 in merchandise since the launch. The proceeds are going toward its educational outreach programs.
The museum was alerted to the hoodies’ appearance on the show on Oct. 27 by a social media follower.
The sweat shirt was first sold at the Explore Store in the early 1980s, the museum says.
The series’ costume designer told Newsweek she found the hoodie online while searching for inspiration from the period.
“I really loved the Brontosaurus for Dustin, so we bought the original. Then we made our own purple hoodie with this great dinosaur art in Gaten’s size.”
It seems to have paid off – particularly for the museum.
