Sara Hodges is headed back to California after accepting a job as a sports reporter for CBS13.

A sports anchor and reporter for ABC affiliate WAAY31 in Huntsville, Ala., since October 2015, Hodges played basketball at Los Angeles City College before transferring to California State University, Fullerton, according to her personal website.

She began her career in 2011 with postgraduate internships at Redding’s ABC affiliate and CBS’ Los Angeles bureau, then returned to the latter as a production assistant following a seven-month stint in Dothan, Ala., where she covered Auburn University’s 2013 run to the BCS title game.

CBS13 recently hired former Illinois Wesleyan University wide receiver Joe Musso away from Lincoln, Neb., where he covered sports for the station’s local affiliate.
