The drinks are starting to flow once again at downtown’s Pre-Flite Lounge. The no-frills bar was among the businesses displaced by the demolition of the Downtown Plaza to make way for the new Sacramento Kings arena.
Pre-Flite Lounge shut down in April, but found new digs at 1011 10th St. Similar to its previous subterranean environs on L Street, the new Pre-Flite Lounge is located in a basement space and patrons will find the front door in the alley.
Pre-Flite Lounge entered its “soft opening” mode Wednesday, with owner Jason Yee and crew taking a test run of the new space. Until its “official” opening, which is slated for next Thursday or Friday, Pre-Flite Lounge will open at 4 p.m.
“Everybody that’s come by so far have felt comfortable inside and happy,” Yee said. “We’re working with the neighbors to clean up the alley as well. People are calling it ‘Pre-Flite 2.0.’ We still don’t focus too much on craft drinks. Our favorites consist of two ingredients, and one is ice.”
