A $17 price tag for a (not-even-baker’s) dozen cookies might sound steep, when frozen chocolate-chip cookie dough costs about $13 less at your local grocery store.

But what if you lack the wheels, or inclination, to get to that store? Then you go for the $17 cookies, because they are baked to order and delivered to your door, by the Sacramento late-night cookie service Cookies & Milk. The service also delivers a 1/3-quarts of milk for $1.75.

Expect orders to increase if a certain proposition passes Nov. 8. Stoners are “definitely a big part of our customer base,” Cookies & Milk co-founder Nick Altman told The Bee earlier this year.

www.cookiesandmilksac.com, 916-539-3205. Delivers to most of central Sacramento plus some adjacent neighborhoods (for $25 minimum orders). Hours: 7 p.m.-12:30 a.m. Thursday, 7 p.m.-1 a.m. Friday-Saturday, 6 p.m.-midnight Sunday.
