A new, late-night addition to Sacramento’s thriving R Street corridor is set to open Thursday (June 18). Iron Horse Tavern, the latest venture from the Wong brothers (Cafeteria 15L, Ma Jong’s) will be open until midnight on weeknights and 2 a.m. on weekends.
The Wongs revealed the interior of the tavern, housed in a former state office building, at a grand opening event earlier this week. The tavern’s muscular design includes exposed brick, wide-plank wood flooring and several televisions for sports fans.
From the sample menus available at the event, it looks like Iron Horse will offer several pizzas, as well as an extensive breakfast menu that will include Croque-Madame and fried chicken-and-pancakes.
