Energy drinks are everywhere, some more caffeinated and rowdy than others. Petey’s Bing four-flavor line contains 120 milligrams of caffeine, pretty mellow considering the average eight-ounce cuppa has between 95 and 200 milligrams, depending on the beans.
Beyond that, the 40-calorie drinks are full of stuff we’re told is good for us — vitamin C, three B vitamins and extracts from gingsing root, acai berry, and guarana and flax seeds. Oh, and your choice of lightly carbonated bing cherry, blackberry, raspberry, and apple-cherry juices. They’re sweetened with cane sugar, which is making a comeback over high-fructose corn syrup.
They’re two bucks in supermarkets. P.S.: They taste great on a hot day.
