Pauly D visits Sacramento, pitches new line of ready-to-drink cocktails

Well look who washed up from the “Jersey Shore” ... it’s former cast member Pauly D, who visited Sacramento on Saturday to pitch his line of REMIX cocktails and meet with fans. Even though “Jersey Shore” aired its final episode in 2012, the well-tanned and diamond-wearing DJ drew nearly 1,000 fans to a Wal-Mart on Antelope Road.

And boy did they snatch up that REMIX. According to Jessica Stark, one of Pauly D’s partner in this project, a pallet of these REMIX cocktails (over 700 bottles) is ordered for similar appearances and generally sells out. Each bottle sells for a suggested $14.99 and comes in three flavors: “Starfruit,” “Strawberry Holla-peno” and “Oye Mojito” - you know, the kind of sweet and boozy drinks to get you loosened up for a night of dancing at Karma.

This line of drinks follows suit with the rising trend of pre-batched cocktails. Even the craft cocktail set is bottling ready-to-pour drinks, including Napa Valley Distillery and Chris Tucker of Hook & Ladder. Pauly D’s is a more mass-appeal product with Wal-Mart as its primary retail account and has also partnered with David Kanbar, co-founder of Skinnygirl Cocktails, on this latest venture. On a related note, Stark is a former Sacramentan and alum of Rio Americano High School. She’s also a former vice president of global marketing and communication for Judith Ripka Jewelry (as seen sported by Giuliana Rancic of E! News), and REMIX marks Stark’s first foray into the spirits world.
