Let’s go on a virtual nine-day trip with internationally recognized food and wine expert (and self-described “grocer”) Darrell Corti of Sacramento. Destination: island-hopping around Greece, and exploring Northern Italy.
In June, Corti was invited by New Wines of Greece, the state-backed organization that wished to show the advancements in the Greek wine industry that have occurred in recent years.
Accompanying him was Corti Bros. store manager Rick Mindermann. “I documented the trip for Corti TV, our audiovisual blog window into Darrell’s world travels and the business of his store,” Mindermann said.
“It was a cultural tour centered around Greek wine, featuring visits to wineries, vineyards, historical sites and restaurants,” Mindermann said. “We tasted more than 300 wines in various structured wine-tastings. The (Greece-Italy) blog features 97 separate video clips, 1,669 photos and commentary.”

By the way, Corti brought something back with him: Right now, the store is offering the Malvasia dessert wine he tasted in Greece. By mid-November, the store will stock Greek capers, caper leaves and an artisanal tomato dip.
